About me....


Lara is an accomplished young Australian chef with wide ranging experience over 10 years in the kitchens of Australia & Europe. Years of travel have developed an all-round interest in local, seasonal produce through her work as a chef & in food preparation, cooking demonstrations, writing recipes as well as preparing food for photography for various magazines and personal food styling projects.


Lara’s early interest & education in Food Technology led to work experience & subsequent employment with Australian Magazines BBC Australian GoodFood, Women's Day, Gourmet Traveller, food preparation for various food advertisment projects, catering, assistant demonstrators and Chefs at the leading Sydney Seafood School and food preparation on Junior Master Chef, learning under the watchful guidance of experienced chefs. When in Australia she continues to work with these well-known chefs & culinary institutions, most recently working in the test kitchens for well known appliance brand, Breville.


Lara travels extensively & has also cooked in the kitchens of England & Europe ranging from Castles to boat galleys.  These experiences have resulted in requests for input into such books under Bauer Media Group One-dish dinners, FarmHouse, Meals in minutes, Cooking for kids with Allergies, Christmas Baking just to name a few. 


For the past four seasons Lara has been employed as the senior seasonal chef for Freefloating Sailing Adventures on the luxury yacht Viola, sailing the Greek islands; creating flavoursome meals for hundreds of travellers.  This experience has inspired her to create a blog and e-book The Sailing Kitchen to share her love of cooking, curiosity & delight in local produce & unique cultural experiences. At last, Lara is on solid ground & ready to enter your kitchens to spoil & feed you delightful meals in the comfort of your own home.
